The last Bumthang Dzongkhag Tshogdu (DT) decided to resend the tax exemption proposal to the Parliament.

The settlements that fall under throm are facing challenges to pay land tax.

The landowners under the town have to pay Nu 18,000 tax for an acre of land.

In the recent DT, thromde thuemi said that with many constructions activities coming up, there were issue of sewerage and drainage in Wangdicholing, Jakar, Dekiling, and Jalikhar.

He said that land pooling was done and people gave 28 percent of the land for infrastructure development.

Dzongkhag engineer said that the dzongkhag administration managed to get a fund of about Nu 150 million from various projects and the town development is underway.

Member of Parliament for Chhoekhor-Tang, Dawa, said that during the visit of Zhabtog (human settlement) Lyonpo, he was told that the ministry would solve the current issue.

Lyonpo reportedly said that although matters regarding tax should go through parliament, MoWHS had the authority to reduce or postpone tax payment when people are not provided with basic infrastructure.

Dawa told the members that he would remind the minister to look into the issue again.  He said that a team from MoWHS was reviewing the land pooling issue in the town.
