Police in Mongar detained a 25-year-old health worker on September 13 for allegedly raping a 13-year-old minor.

The incident occurred last week and the victim’s family reported the matter to the police.

It was learnt that school authorities learnt about the rape and informed the victim’s parents.

Sources said the health worker and the victim are neighbours.

Police officials said they are investigating the case and are also waiting for the medical report to confirm the sexual assault.
