High Quality United FC (HQUFC) began their 2021 BoB Bhutan Premier League (BPL) season with a win beating the Tensung FC (TFC) at the Changlimithang Stadium yesterday.

Both the teams began in high spirits. Despite numerous chances, the first half ended goalless.

The soldiers (TFC) successfully managed to intercept several attempts from High Quality until the end. However, two quick goals from the High Quality changed the outcome.

HQUFC’s striker Pema Zangpo headed his first goal in the 88th minutes. Defender Chencho doubled it in the extra time from the spot.

Thimphu City FC and Paro FC also secured three points each so far in the league.

Defending champions, City had an easy win when they thrashed Gomo FC of Punakha 7-1 on May 22. Paro FC defeated Druk Lhayul FC 2-0 at home on May 23.

The 10 competing teams will play 90 games this season.

Transport United FC will play against Ugyen Academy FC in Thimphu  today.
