Those in the tourism industry can now access real-time tourist statistics and information on the tourism Bhutan portal and statistics division dashboard. The Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB) launched the system last week.

The TCB also launched the domestic tourist registration (DTR) system to improve the tourism database management system and its public service delivery.

According to a press release from the TCB, the portal and statistics dashboard will provide timely and relevant information on all aspects of tourism in the country. “It will enhance the tourism service through a single integrated system efficiently.”

The system will have a tourism database, real-time tourist arrival statistics and information, online services and grievance redressal.

The other system DTR, according to TCB, is launched to facilitate domestic tourism activities in the identified pilgrimage sites and trekking routes. It is also aimed for quick contact tracing of visitors in the event of a Covid-19 outbreak in a particular site or location.

Every domestic travel coordinator is required to register their trips via this system to maintain a proper record of the movement. The tour provider or promoters such as hoteliers, tour operators, and guides can submit their application to obtain approval prior to their trip.

One can also process the Park Permit of the forestry department online and track the application status.
