The Prime Minister’s Office said that residents of Thimphu can move within the mega-zones without having to carry the cards starting tomorrow (February 3, 2022).

All grocery stores can now operate from 9am to 6pm, according to the announcement. Residents must avoid the red buildings and clusters with positive cases that are being guarded. Gathering of any sort is strictly disallowed.

The gradual reopening process will be complemented by intensive surveillance of the disease in the community, the PMO stated. “This will be observed until February 6, 2022, and further updates will be shared based on the Covid-19 assessment on the ground.”
