Completing the 100km race from Changlingmethang parking – Paro – Clock Tower Square race in three hours, three minutes and forty nine seconds, Norbu from RBA won the open men’s category of the 8th edition of the DANTAK Mountain Bike Race on April 22.

Kinley Tenzin also from RBA came second finishing two minutes after Norbu. Twenty seconds later, Tashi Namgay completed the race to secure the third position.

In the open women’s category, twenty-seven-year-old Australian Kaye Megan Redman came first position after she finished the race in three hours twenty nine minutes and forty four seconds. Rinchen Dema Rabgay, who arrived eight minutes later came second and Chimi Dema, a RTC student stood third arriving three minutes later.

The President of Bhutan Olympic Committee, His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck flagged off the race at 7am. Her Majesty the Gyalyum Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck graced the prize distribution ceremony. A total of 103 bikers participated in the enduring friendship mountain bike race 2018 that was held to commemorate 50 years of diplomatic relations between India and Bhutan.
