Since last month, Thimphu police has to date arrested 36 substance abusers aged between 17 and 32 years.  About 23 abusers including a female were arrested last month.

Seven men between 24 and 33 years were arrested for illicit trafficking of controlled substances and tobacco products in April. Police seized 3,029 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon Plus (SP+) and 11.36 grams of dried marijuana leaves (Puriya) from six men and 1,854 baba(chewing tobacco) packets from a man.

Until yesterday this month, police seized 1,042 capsules of SP+ from two men.
