In an effort to prevent corruption effectively, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and Institute of Science of Mind (ISM), Zhung Dratshang signed a MoU in Thimphu yesterday.

Recognising the role of ISM in preventing corruption, the MoU was signed to strengthen and establish cooperation between ACC and ISM.

The signing is expected to enhance prevention and education aspects of the anti-corruption measures through the participatory approach of ISM in advocacy programmes about social harm and danger of corruption.

Besides developing strategies and implementation framework, ACC and ISM will also conduct awareness programmes aimed at preventing corrupt practices and instill a sense of intolerance for corruption.

A press release from ACC states that ACC as a constitutional body has the mandate to carry out activities to prevent, educate and investigate all allegations of corrupt practices, whether reported or otherwise. “Since its establishment, conscious efforts were made to strengthen linkages with national as well as the regional and international counterparts.”

ACC in collaboration with the ISM initiated awareness programmes on anti-corruption measures about two aspects of mind in relation to ethical behavior since September this year.
