Of the 13 people airlifted from Zhemgang yesterday morning, after two separate incidents on May 21 and 22 injured them, nine were discharged from the national referral hospital yesterday evening and four are admitted, although they are in stable condition.

An official from Zhemgang dzongkhag administration said the 12 de-suups and a driver were admitted in Yebilaptsa hospital before the referral.

On May 21, two de-suups, a livestock official, a villager, and a driver engaged in the National Accelerated Dog Population Management and Rabies Control Programme met with an accident in Tali village of Nangkor gewog in Zhemgang.

The villager, who is survived by his wife and three children, died on the spot.



In another accident on May 22, 10 de-suups and a driver sustained minor injuries after the vehicle they were in met with an accident in Panabi in lower Kheng.

The de-suups were in Phangkar for the One Million Fruit Tree project.

Phangkhar gup, Tashi Dorji, said the de-suups were returning from Zangbi to Phangkhar gewog office when the accident occurred. Zangbi is about 15km away from the Phangkhar gewog office.
