Diplomacy: Bhutan’s ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Sonam T Rabgye, presented his credentials to the President of Korea, Park Geun-hye on November 1, according to a foreign affairs press release.

The ambassador conveyed the good wishes of His Majesty The King, His Majesty The Fourth Druk Gyalpo, the Prime Minister, and the people of Bhutan.

He reiterated the Royal Government’s firm commitment to working closely with the Republic of Korea to further enhance cooperation between the two countries.

During the visit, the ambassador also met with senior government officials, including the deputy foreign minister for political affairs, and vice president for projects and regional coordination of the Korea International Cooperation Agency, among others. He also met with Bhutanese students in Korea.

Bhutan and Korea will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in September next year. The occasion will be observed with yearlong activities in both countries.
