Diplomacy: The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Bhutan, Tomasz Łukaszuk and the Ambassador of Egypt to Bhutan, Hatem Elsayed Mohamed Tageldin presented credentials to His Majesty the King yesterday at the Tashichhodzong.
His Majesty the King also granted an audience to the Ambassadors after the credentials ceremony.
Later, the Ambassadors called on Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay. Ambassador Łukaszuk said he is fortunate to be the first ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Bhutan. Lyonchoen and the ambassador discussed education and sustainable energy.
The Ambassador of Egypt to Bhutan, Hatem Elsayed Mohamed Tageldin expressed his appreciation to the Prime Minister on Bhutan’s role in the UN Peace Keeping Force.
Lyonchoen thanked the Government of Egypt for providing scholarships in the field of foreign diplomacy and suggested if scholarship in agriculture, archeology, tourism, economics and others could be provided to Bhutan.
Bhutan established formal diplomatic relations with Poland and Egypt in November 2012. The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi, India are concurrently accredited to Bhutan.
