In preparation to the poll day of the primary round of third parliamentary election, which is approaching nearer, election officials of 17 polling stations in Lhuentse district left for their respective areas after their refreshers’ course yesterday.

More than 30 polling stations and the officials are in the field for election duty.

The farthest polling stations is Rometang in Tsango village, on the way to Singye Dzong under Khoma gewog, which is about a day’s walk from the nearest motorable road.

The next farthest station is in Wungar village under Maedtsho gewog.

According to electiom officials, of the 33 polling stations, 28 were deployed with four polling officials and three security officials; five polling stations are deployed with only three polling officials and three security officials each.

Each polling station has two electronic voting machines. The dzongkhag has 16,581 eligible registered voters.
