Team Khorlos were trailing team Dragon 58-60 with only five seconds to spare.

They had the chance to earn a draw but instead lost it when they gave away a foul. Team Dragon capitalized on the free throw and punished Khorlos taking the deficit to four points in the first match of the fifth day ongoing B-League Basketball Championship which began on April 29.

From the beginning of the game, it was Dragon who led the score, until in the last 4minute 35secs of the last quarter when they had the tie score of 49-49.

Team Aegis and A-Team, Volcans and Unicorns, and team Grim Reaper and Caliber were the three other matches played yesterday.

Meanwhile, on the fourth day of the league, the first game was played between 300 and Anonymous, where team Anonymous won with the score of 43-58. In second game, team Mystiques dominated Lumberjacks with score of 90-30 in the women’s division.

Puenchas with score of 43-48 beat Spartans, and Epic won with from Devil Bats with 64-46.

A total of 36 teams out of which 29 are men’s and seven women’s participating in the ongoing B-league basketball tournament at the Swimming Pool Complex.  So far 18 matches have been played, of which three were between women teams.

Bhutan Basketball Federation’s media coordinator Jamyang Zangpo said that the tournament is to motivate the growth of basketball culture and keep it alive.

Organized by Bhutan Basketball Federation under the Bhutan Olympic Committee, four matches are played on weekdays beginning at 5pm and on weekends five games are played. The final game is on May 27.
