The president of Bhutan Football Federation, Ugyen Tshechup Dorji became the first Bhutanese to serve as the executive member of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) during the 29th AFC congress held in Malaysia on April 6.

He will represent south zone of AFC that includes Bangladesh, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan for four years until 2023.
