Health: The 140th session of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Executive Board (EB) is being held in Geneva from January 23 to February 1, according to a health ministry press release.

Bhutan along with Thailand and Nepal currently represents the WHO South-East Asia countries in the EB.

The Bhutanese delegation led by health minister TandinWangchuk, accompanied by Dr. Pandup Tshering and Tenzin Chophel are attending the meeting.

The EB is composed of 34 members technically qualified in the field of health. Members are elected for three-year terms. The main functions of the EB are to give effect to the decisions and policies of the World Health Assembly, to advise it and generally to facilitate its work.
