The second Bhutan-India development cooperation talks for the 12th Plan between the governments of Bhutan and India is scheduled to be held in New Delhi today.

The Bhutanese delegation will be led by Foreign Secretary Kinga Singye, and the Indian delegation by Ministry of External Affairs’ Secretary (Economic Relations), TS Tirumurti.

The two sides will review the implementation of projects funded by the Government of India in the 12th Plan which includes project tied assistance (PTA) and small development project or high impact community development project (HICDP).

The two sides will also hold discussions on 22 new PTA projects, which will be proposed by the Bhutanese side. The Government of India has committed to provide Nu 45 billion for the 12th Plan.

The Government of India’s commitment to the 12th Plan constitutes about 14.5 percent of the Plan outlay which is around 38.75 percent of the capital outlay and 71 percent of the total external assistance.
