The executive chair of the UN-hosted Sanitation and Water for All (SWA) global partnership, Catarina de Albuquerque was in Bhutan recently to meet key ministries and development partners, and to be a speaker at the Third B-WASH Cluster Meeting.

A press release from SWA states that Bhutan recently became a partner of SWA, joining 71 other world government in this multi-stakeholder partnership that aims to achieve sanitation, water and hygiene for all, always and everywhere.

Ms. De Albuquerque met works and human settlement minister Dorji Choden and finance minister Namgay Dorji, as well as representatives of the GNHC, Unicef, the World Bank and the ADB.

SWA is a global partnership of country governments, private sector and civil society organisations, external support agencies, research and learning institutions and other development partners working together to catalyse political leadership and action, improve accountability and use scarce resources more effectively.
