SABA: Bhutan will play Sri Lanka in the first match of the three-day South Asia Basketball Association (SABA) qualifying competition, which begins today in Bengaluru, India. The match starts at 10 am.
In the second game on the same day, Bhutan will face Nepal, at 7 pm. India, who has won the SABA tournament twice in 2002 and 2014, is the favourite to win the championship and progress to the Asian Championship to be held in China in September.
Maldives and Bangladesh are the two other teams competing in the SABA subzone, one of the FIBA Asia’s subzone.
Bangladesh play Maldives in the opening fixture at 8:30 am after which India takes on Nepal.
