Under-15 national boys’ team will play against Pakistan in the ongoing U-15 South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) championship in Nepal tomorrow.

The boys will make third appearance in the championship in the fifth edition of SAFF U-16 championship against Pakistan that opened the championship with 2-1 stunner against defending champions India yesterday.

For the national U-15 team, the match against Pakistan will be the most competitive match since they recorded 6-0 win against Sri Lanka as their biggest winning record last year in August.

Bhutan finished fourth, above Sri Lanka and the Maldives in the previous edition and this is the best result of the team in this competition. Three Bhutanese players entered into championship’s score sheet last year.

Pakistan received exciting support with the former world player of the year and Brazilian football legend, Ricardo Kaka, showing his support for the boys one day ahead of their opening match against India.

The football legend applauded the team for taking part in the championship.

The boys were quick enough to respond the football legend’s support, defeating India the next day to enter the championship with a win. Bhutan, India, and Pakistan are placed in pool B.

Two winners from the pool will qualify to play the semi finals at the end of group stage match.

Bhutan will play Pakistan for the first time tomorrow and play for the second time in two years against India. Bhutan’s U-15 boys lost to India 3-0 in the semi finals last year.

The championship that began yesterday in Nepal will end on November 3. India is the most successful team with two title wins followed by Bangladesh with one title.
