High Quality United FC 5-2 Paro United FC

Thinley Namgay

High Quality United FC (HQUFC) is dominating the ongoing Bhutan Super League with six points. The team has maintained a clean sheet after winning two consecutive matches.

The HQUFC had an early lead when striker Tenzin Thinley scored within a minute into the game with an assist from Ugyen Dorji. However, Paro United responded with an equaliser through striker Sunil Rai in 12th minute.

Both sides pushed to break the deadlock and under the increased pressure PUFC’s Sunil Rai placed straight to Bikash Subba, who was unmarked dribbled all defenders and slotted in HQUFC’s second goal.

Envigoured by the fresh advantage of an extra goal, HQUFC heaped pressure on the PUFC’s defence which crumbled as Yeshi Dorji converted from Bikash Subba’s corner kick.

Yeshi Dorji added more humiliation when he found the back of the net in the first minute of the second half.

PUFC then devoted more men at the back. HQUFC struggled to penetrate and played around happily keeping possession. Striker Tenzin Thinley scored his brace to make it 5-1 in the 78th minute and Tshering Dendup pulled back one in the dying minutes of the game.

High quality had five shots on goal, Paro United had two. HQUFC had seven corners whereas the opponents had only four.

In the opening match of the league, HQUFC defeated Paro Rinpung FC 6-1.
