Bhutanese driver assaulted in Assam

A 28-year-old Bhutanese driver was physically assaulted when the medical supply truck he was driving hit an eight-year-old child at Dawshuray in Chirang district, Assam on April 1.

The incident occurred at around 8:45am when the driver was heading to Phuentsholing from Gelephu. According to police, the truck was stoned by the locals who flocked the accident area and the driver suffered a cut on his mouth.
