Bank of Bhutan (BoB) upgraded five of its extension branch offices in Samdrupcholing, Panbang, Sipsu, Wamrong and Lhamoizingkha to full-fledged branch last week. The five branch offices, according to the bank’s spokesperson, Passang Norbu, will now offer full banking services.

The branch offices will now accept both demand and time deposits, would not limit withdrawals, and offer transfers and opening of new CD/SB/RD/FD Accounts. The offices will also issue drafts, Bankers Cheque, INR remittance and Alternative Delivery Channel Services such as mBOB, Internet Banking and Cards.

They will accept and sanction loan proposals, provide foreign currency exchange and comply with Standing Instruction in terms of making payment of rent, insurance premium, transferring EMI to loan accounts and other deposit accounts.

With the five branches upgraded, the total number of BoB branch offices stands at 36 with 11 extension branch offices.
