The body of the 37-year-old man who was washed away by the Chamkhar river on May 8 was found yesterday afternoon.

The body was found three kilometres downstream. The incident took place at around 5:30pm on May 8 below Damphel bridge in Chhoekhortoed, Chhoekhor gewog.

The deceased and three friends were returning home after performing a ritual in the nearby village when the incident took place. According to police, the man was washed away when he was trying to swim across the river.

Police and DeSuups with members from Red Cross Society locals and other volunteers helped search for the body.
