Bhutan Tendrel Party (BTP) declared a candidate each from Sarpang and Tsirang, yesterday.  The party declared Lachuman Ghalley, 41, from Shompangkha constituency in Sarpang, and Chhabi Lal Das, 57, as its candidate from Sergithang-Tsirang Toed constituency in Tsirang.

The 41-year-old educationist has a Master’s in Business Administration from the Gedu College of Business Studies, a Bachelor’s in Commerce from Saint Joseph’s College, North Point, India, and a PGDE from Samtse College of Education, Royal University of Bhutan.




He has served as a teacher for more than 12 years in several schools across the country.

Before joining Bhutan Tendrel Party, Lachuman Ghalley served as an Economics teacher at Sarpang Middle Secondary School.

The father of two is from Chokhorling village under Dekiling gewog.

Chhabi Lal has a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Andhra Pradesh, India.  He has over 30 years of work experience as a civil engineer in different dzongkhags.




He started his career in 1988 as a site engineer for the reconstruction of Machen Lhakhang in Punakha Dzong and subsequently worked for the dzongkhag administrations in Bumthang, Haa, and Mongar in various capacities.

Before joining Tendrel, Chhabi Lal served as Thimphu Dzongkhag’s Chief Engineer. He is from Kherithang village under Doonglagang gewog.

The party has declared 25 candidates so far.
