Bhutan Tendrel Party (BTP) declared the party’s candidate for Dokar Sharpa constituency in Paro yesterday.

Jigme, 40, has a Master’s in Engineering (Power Systems) from the University of Western Australia.

He also has a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the College of Science and Technology, Rinchending, Chhukha.

Before joining Bhutan Tendrel Party, Jigme served as a senior divisional manager of Bhutan Power Corporation in Paro. He has 17 years of experience in the power sector.

He spent most of his time in Paro, looking after the distribution system of the dzongkhag as well as Lingzhi and Soe gewogs.

He served as a Pre-University Councilor and also the Chief Councilor in the College of Science and Technology.

He is the party’s first candidate from Paro which has two constituencies – Lamgong Wangchang and Dokar Sharpa.

With this, the party has declared 38 candidates so far to contest the fourth parliamentary elections.
