Bhutan Tendrel Party (BTP) declared Jigme Wangchuk and Yeshey Jamtsho as candidates from Jomotshangkha-Martshala and Nanong-Shumar constituencies respectively yesterday.

Jigme Wangchuk, 43, of Jomotshangkha Martshala, Samdrupjongkhar, has a bachelor’s degree in education from Paro College of Education.

He served for three consecutive terms in the National Council as the representative of Samdrupjongkhar. During his tenure, he served as a member of the Good Governance and Economic Committee in the first term. During his second term, he chaired the social and cultural affairs committee and served as the Deputy Chairperson in the last term. He also chaired the House Committee and was a member of the economic affairs committee.

Yeshey Jamtsho, 49, from Nanong Shumar, Pema Gatshel constituency has a Master of Banking and Finance from the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. He also has a Bachelor of Arts from Punjab University, Chandigarh. He undertook a year-long Integrated Computer training at the Royal Institute of Management in Thimphu

Yeshey Jamtsho started his career as a Credit Assistant Officer in 1997 in the erstwhile Bhutan Development and Financial Corporation.

For his service and dedication, Yeshey Jamtsho received the Note of Recognition in 2004, a Meritious Reward, and a Letter of Recognition and Seniority Protection Reward in 2005 for his excellent performance. His Dorokha Branch in Samtse was also awarded the Best Performing Branch in 2013 by the Bank.

He served for 25 years in Bhutan Development Bank and resigned as a Senior Branch Manager from the Pema Gatshel branch office. He is also a de-suup.

Yeshey Jamtsho is from Geri Village under Nanong village.

With this, the party has declared 41 candidates so far to contest the fourth parliamentary elections.
