Nima Wangdi 

At the first general assembly of the Bhutan Tendrel Party (BTP), the party revealed four more candidates after declaring the party president’s profile.

The assembly took place at the Royal Institute of Management’s (RIM) multipurpose hall in Semtokha, Thimphu.

President Dasho Pem Tshewang offered the new candidates Tashi Khadhars after introducing them to the people.

The party also its website yesterday.

Prakash Sharma, 50, is the candidate for Lhamoizingkha-Tashiding constituency in Dagana. He was a planning officer of Chukha Dzongkhag Administration. He was a businessman before he joined the party.

The former Jomotsangkha Drungpa, Lamdra Wangdi, is representing Nganglam constituency in Pemagatshel. He started his career as a teacher. Lamdra Wangdi has M.Ed in education administration from St. Xavier University in Canada.

Damche Tenzin, 50, is Thrimshing constituency’s candidate. He worked with the judiciary, Royal Civil Service Commission, and was General Counsel with royal monetary authority prior to joining politics. He has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Sherubtse College, a Post Graduate Diploma in National Law from RIM, a Bachelor of laws from Delhi University, and a Master of Laws from California Western School of Law in the US.



Kilkhorthang-Mendrelgang constituency in Tsirang has Dhan Bahadur Tamang from Barshong as the party’s candidate. The 50-year-old has 25 years of experience in teaching. He was a school principal before joining politics. He has a B.Ed from Samtse College of Education and an M.Ed. from Mahidol University in Thailand.

The party also introduced other 17 candidates who were declared earlier.

The president also offered Tashi Khadhars to the dzongkhag and national party coordinators.

Dasho Pem Tshewang said the party has conducted familiarisation tour in 15 dzongkhags as of now.

He said that structural barriers have made availing public services extremely difficult and time-consuming. “We will correct this.”

He said that the time has arrived to create an enabling environment for everyone in the country.

“It’s time we improved services for our people.”

BTP will conduct familiarisation tour in Haa today.
