Proving his talent to perform at any given time, the lone Bhutanese international in Indian Super League, Chencho Gyeltshen completed his move to Neroca FC, an I league team on January 31.

Chencho Gyeltshen scored a winner against Northeast United FC, the second ISL goal of the season, a day before his switch from Bengaluru FC to Neroca FC in Manipur India.

His second ISL goal against Northeast United helped Bengaluru FC return to winning ways and become the first in ISL to score 30 points in a season.

With the winger set to play from I league team for the rest of the season in India, Chencho has three fixtures to play with Neroca FC. Bengaluru FC has five more fixtures to go without Chencho Gyeltshen.

In about three matches he played with Bengaluru FC, the Bhutanese striker managed to catch the special highlights of ISL and his team. However, Chencho struggled to get enough game time.

Chencho Gyeltshen told Kuensel that his move to Neroca FC for the remaining season was a good decision.

“I am getting limited play time in Bengaluru and for me right now, it is very important to play rather than staying still. That is the main reason why I took this decision,” he said.

Considering the decision to be right, he added that Bengaluru FC had an open door for him in the upcoming next ISL season.

The completion of on loan move to Neroca FC, placed fifth in this season would mean Chencho’s return to I league after seven months. The first I league club he played with was Minerva Punjab FC where he won the club its first I league title and bagged the player of year award.

With Neroca FC’s remaining fixtures slated against clubs placed above them, Chencho’s addition to the squad is expected to strengthen the attacking front of the club, according to media reports.

Chencho Gyeltshen will also get a chance to play against his former club Minerva Punjab FC in the final I league match of Neroca FC on February 23.

Including the current club, the Bhutanese striker has played for three different Indian clubs in more than two years.

Chencho Gyeltshen is expected to debut for Neroca FC on February 7 against East Bengal FC. In January last year, Chencho Gyeltshen while playing for Minerva Punjab FC scored and ended the meeting 2-0 in favour of the latter.

Including Chencho Gyletshen, there are two Bhutanese internationals playing in various Indian leagues today.
