Although the Damchu-Chukha bypass roadblock below the Youth Development & Rehabilitation Centre (YDRC) in Tsimasham was cleared and vehicles were allowed to ply since yesterday morning, commuters were advised to use the old route from Dam site and Tsimasham to reach Chukha in the evening.

Tsimasham police officials confirmed that boulders were still falling in different locations between the Damsite and Chukha, where the major block had occurred on the evening of July 30.

Police said it would be risky to let commuters travel along the new route.

Meanwhile, Project DANTAK officials also had to clear off another area yesterday after the previous block was cleared for traffic. Huge boulders had blocked the road again and it was cleared by 1:30pm.
