Phuentsholing police has arrested the businessman, who complained against the Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) coordinator of threat and had him arrested. He was detained on the evening of August 2 for making threats to the DPT coordinator.

Following a complaint lodged by the businessman on July 24, police arrested the DPT coordinator on July 31 in Thimphu and was brought to Phuentsholing.

The DPT coordinator from Trashigang had allegedly insinuated members of a WeChat group known as ‘Bartsham-Songphu’ to batter the businessman and burn his personal vehicle if seen around in villages. This had happened after the businessman was invited in the WeChat group by a member. The DPT coordinator had told the group members in the chat that the businessman was a Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa (DNT) coordinator and that he was an intrusive individual.

Meanwhile,in due process of the interrogation, police found that the complainant had also made similar threats to the DPT coordinator. He was then arrested.

Police has registered the case and it would be forwarded to the court next week.
