The government will, on behalf of the youth who went to Japan on the Learn and Earn Programme (LEP), pay the interest for the loans they availed from Bhutan Development Bank Limited (BDBL) and Royal Insurance Corporation of Bhutan Limited (RICBL).

26 people quarantined in Phuentsholing in one day 

On the first day of mandatory quarantining, the response team in Phuentsholing quarantined 26 Bhutanese, mostly students returning from Sikkim. They will be quarantined for two weeks. 

Joint parliament committee recommends Gov’t to postpone re-opening of schools

The joint parliamentary committee on the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) preparedness and response yesterday recommended the government to postpone the reopening of schools in five dzongkhags till the end of March 2020.

All schools and educational institutes including ECCDs, VTIs, across the country will remain closed from today until further order from the government, Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering said.
