Dungsam Cement Corporation Limited (DCCL) will supply cement to Project Dantak for the construction of roads in Bhutan. The two organisations signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) yesterday.

Chief Engineer Project Dantak, Brigadier Jaswinder Singh, and the Sales Head of DCCL signed the MoU in Thimphu.

According to a press release from Project Dantak, the MoU signifies a significant step towards promoting local industries in Bhutan as the supply of cement will now be sourced from a domestic company. “The move will also help in boosting the country’s economy and will play an active role in the country’s development,” it stated.

The Sales Head of DCCL, Tshering said that the collaboration will provide a much-needed boost to the cement industry in Bhutan.

He also highlighted that the partnership will help DCCL to expand its business and contribute to the economic growth of the country the release stated.

Brigadier Jaswinder Singh stated that this collaboration will help in the timely completion of road construction projects in Bhutan.

This collaboration comes after Project Dantak’s industry outreach programme with members of the association of industries in Phuntsholing last week.

Project Dantak has been involved in the construction and maintenance of strategic roads in Bhutan for more than six decades.
