Crossovers without a single win at the end of Day 12

Basketball: Day 12 of the on going Pepsi A league basketball tournament at the Swimming Pool Complex saw newcomers, Crossovers, suffer yet another defeat to Drukpas 66-51.

Crossovers who were promoted into the A division this year are without a single win so far in the tournament. After suffering their tenth consecutive loss at the tournament the team is currently at the bottom of the table with 10 points.

The second game between RBA and Jaguars saw an upset when Jaguars defeated RBA 67-65. After a tightly contested game, RBA who was in the top four in the competition suffered their fourth loss of the tournament.

Defending champions Jachung had an easy win over Takins securing their top position with 21 points followed by Wizards with 20 points.

Match commissioner of the tournament, Coach Mike, said the tournament this year has improved a lot.

As of Day 11 (March 8) of the league round, His Royal Highness Dasho Jigme Dorji Wangchuck of Pazaps and Jamyang Namgyal of Wizards have the highest scores of 41 points in a single game.

With 16 rebounds in a single game, Pazaps’ Galden Chopel is the leading rebounder. With 12 three-pointers, Lhendup D Dorjey of Jachung has scored the maximum number of three-pointers in a single game.

The league round of the tournament will conclude on March 24. Of the total 10 teams, eight will qualify into the playoffs and the two teams with the minimum points will be relegated into the B division.

The playoffs will start on March 26.
