Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) declared three candidates from Samtse, Trashigang, and Dagana for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Jagat Bdr Ghalley, 36, will represent Ugyentse-Yoeseltse constituency from Samtse. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from St. Joseph College, Darjeeling in India (2010), and an advanced diploma in information technology from Darjeeling Institute of Information Technology. 

From January 2012 to June 2014, he served as an assistant manager in the petroleum division of Tashi Commercial Corporation. Since 2014, he has operated a taxi business.

He is from Namsaling, Sangngag Choeling Gewog and is a father of two.

Sonam Tshering, 47, will represent Wamrong constituency from Trashigang. He has a Bachelor of Education degree from the National Institute of Education in Paro.

He served as a teacher for more than eight years and then joined the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). He served in ACC for about three years as a senior investigator in the Department of Investigation.

He has also pursued specialised training, completing Anti-Corruption Studies at the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Academy in Kuala Lumpur.

In 2018, he resigned from ACC and joined Bhutan Kuen-Nyam Party (BKP)

The party also declared Chador Wangmo, 37, as its candidate from Drukjegang_Tseza constituency in Dagana.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing Honours (BBA) from Shillong College, North East Hill University (NEHU).

She was a former journalist and also worked as a marketing officer for more than 12 years in private firms.

In 2018, she contested for the National Council and later joined Bhutan Kuen-Nyam Party. She is a mother of two children. 

The party has declared five candidates so far.
