AFC: The first AFC Cup Qualifiers match between Druk United and K-Electric FC at the Changlimithang stadium yesterday ended 3-3 tie.

K-Electric FC’s Muhammad Rasool scored the first goal of the match 10 into the game. However, K-Electric lost the control of the game and united scored their first. An equalizer came from United’s mid-fielder Tshering Dorji at the 17th minute but Rasool gave his team lead by one just before the break.

United dominated the game after break and K-Electric resorted to defensive play.

Tshering Wangdi’s powerful shot took the score to 2-2. United scored again to take the lead. The glory, however, was short-lived. Defender Habib’s last minute goal crushed United’s hope of wining the game.

United’s head coach Pema side K-Electric were the better team. “We played our part and gave our best. We hope to do better in the next game.”

The weather played a big role, K-Electric coach Majid Shafiq. “We’re not used to playing in such conditions but this is no excuse. We learnt a lot and hopefully we’ll be able make it to four in the next match,” said Majid Shafiq.

K-Electric FC will play Mongolia’s Khoromkhon FC tomorrow.
