Druk Thuendrel Tshogpa (DTT) declared two female candidates from Haa and Paro on Saturday.
The party has declared Dawa Gyelmo to represent Bji-Katsho-Uesu constituency in Haa.
The 36-year-old has a post-graduate degree in Journalism from the Asian College of Journalism in Chennai, India.
Before joining the party, Dawa has worked as reporter with Bhutan’s national daily newspaper Kuensel for nearly a decade and as a contributing writer to the Third Pole, an online environmental news portal, for another six years.
The party has declared Jangchuk Tshomo to represent Dokar-Sharpa constituency in Paro.
The 30-year-old holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology from Sherubtse College.
She worked in the service industry for the most part since graduation. Jangchuk began as a tour guide in 2015 and operates a hotel in Thimphu today.
Meanwhile, the party also appointed a female youth coordinator, Binita Ghalley, 27, from Samtse.
With this, the party has declared 28 candidates including four women so far for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
