An unprecedented number of people attended the Global Peace Prayer Festival on November 8, with estimates of over 85,000 people in and around the venue. People began arriving in Changlimithang as early as midnight, and by the time prayers began, the football stadium, as well as the Centenary Park were filled with devotees.
