Chiba Institute of Technology in Japan conferred an Honorary Doctorate on His Majesty the King on May 27. The university cited His Majesty’s leadership in guiding Bhutan’s democratic transition, advancing the philosophy of Gross National Happiness, and championing visionary national initiatives such as Gyalsung and the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) as key reasons for the honour.
