August 17, 1980 - A ten bedded hospital was formally inaugurated in Paro on August 13, 1980. The inaugural ceremony began at about 10 A.M. with the Chief Guest, Lam Neten and several other monks performing the Rabney (Consecration of the building). After the Rabney, Lam Neten cut the ribbon, declaring the hospital open.
