Celebration: Mongar celebrated the first birth anniversary of His Royal Highness The Gyalsey in Gyalpoizhing yesterday.
The day started with Chana Dorji Sungchoe and lighting of butter lamps by Lhalung Sungtruel Rinpoche at the Gadhen Lhakhang. The dzongdags of the six eastern dzongkhags, officials and members of Parliament from Mongar offered prayers and zhabten to His Majesty The King and HRH The Gyalsey.
The dzongkhags displayed local arts and crafts, a variety of indigenous food and beverages, unique traditional songs and dances,and traditional mask dances.
Among the unique traditional songs were Ajang Gawai and Dramatise Ngacham from Mongar and Achi Lhamo Cham from Trashigang.
The office of HRH The Gyaltshab organised the first Gyalsey Archery Tournament.
Tashi Phuntsho
