With just four days left until the first international concert by global icon Ed Sheeran on Friday, tickets are still being sold.

Ed Sheeran is set to kick off his global concert tour, the Mathematics Tour 2025, in Bhutan on January 24.

This is the first time an English singer-songwriter, musician, record producer, and actor will perform in the country.

Out of the 13 seating and standing zones at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, where the concert will take place, five have been sold out, with only a few seats remaining in the other eight zones. The remaining tickets, in different zones, are priced at Nu 8,600, Nu 6,000, Nu 4,300, and Nu 2,600.

This concert, expected to to be attended by over 23,000 national and international fans, is made possible by Gelephu Mindfulness City and AEG Presents in collaboration with One Fiinix Live.

The organisers are advising fans to purchase tickets only from official ticket sites listed on https://www.edsheeran.com and remind them that Viagog is not an official ticket vendor for this tour. This is to ensure that Ed and his team have a strict stance against anyone using unofficial secondary ticketing sites and to prevent fans from being exploited when buying tickets for his shows.

For Bhutanese, tickets can only be purchased from www.tix.bt. Bhutanese citizens must update their Bhutan app and use their Bhutanese Citizenship Identity Cards to purchase tickets.

As with previous Ed Sheeran tours, the promoters will monitor sales transactions in conjunction with the relevant authorities to identify purchases that contravene the terms and conditions for the sale of Ed Sheeran tickets.

All ticket purchases that violate these terms and conditions will be subject to possible cancellation. For a list of FAQs, please visit https://www.edsheeran.com, the organisers advise.

For the concert, Ed Sheeran has brought his own state-of-the-art production equipment, while the setup and logistical operations are being managed by local Bhutanese teams.

“This collaboration not only ensures a world-class concert experience but also highlights and supports the talent and expertise within Bhutan,” said the organisers.

At the concert, limited edition show merchandise will also be available for purchase at the venue.

“The demand for Ed Sheeran’s upcoming concert in Bhutan has been phenomenal, drawing significant interest from both Bhutanese residents and international travellers,” Carissa Nimah, Chief Marketing Officer with the Department of Tourism said. “It is remarkable to see the level of enthusiasm for this concert in a country with a population of just 750,000.”

This overwhelming response highlights Ed Sheeran’s universal appeal and the profound connection his music has with audiences across the globe.

Carissa Nimah said: “The excitement and anticipation surrounding this event underscore Bhutan’s growing presence as a destination for world-class performances and global audiences and we would like to thank everyone involved, and especially our hospitality partner ,Tashi Group, for their support.”
