The appointment of principal and vice-principal in private schools must be verified by dzongkhag and thromde administrations and endorsed by the education ministry, according to the revised Private Schools Establishment and Operational Guidelines 2018.

As per the new guidelines, the principal must now have a minimum professional degree and an experience of working as a principal or a vice-principal for at least two years.
