A non-Bhutanese labourer in Trongsa was arrested and placed under police custody for attempting to rape a female De-Suup in Trongsa.

He works for one of the contractors of Mangdechhu Hydropower Authority. 

Trongsa court closed due to lockdown conducted the hearing for remand order virtually yesterday.

The judge granted 21 days’ remand order for the accused.

The alleged incident occurred when she was going to the tailor and the accused touched her. The lady was attending her duty at the tri-junction near Dzongkhalum.

The incident was reported by one of the fellow De-Suups posted at the site.
