The agriculture ministry would select a school each in every dzongkhag to pilot the school-feeding programme and supply nutritious food, the agriculture minister Yeshey Penjore said.

The move comes after the government decided to transfer the stipend for the revised feeding programme to the agriculture ministry from the education ministry. Lyonchhen also announced the move in the State of the Nation report stating that it would ensure supply of locally grown food to schools while facilitating farming communities with a ready market.
