At around noon yesterday, a makeshift house of one of the Kadam tshampas in Mongar was gutted by fire.
When the incident occurred, Yeshi Wangchuk had gone to town.
Tshampa Tendi, who witnessed the incident, said that he heard something burning outside. He went outside to check and saw his friend’s makeshift house on fire.
“Nothing could be done,” he said.
Yeshi Wangchuk said it is not known what caused the fire. He lost all his religious texts and Nu 9,000 that he had saved.
