Six units of the newly constructed staff quarters of Gidakom hospital in Thimphu were razed to the ground around 9.20am yesterday. 

Police, de-suups, and health staff contained the fire. However, the staff including drivers lost all their belongings to the fire. No human casualties were reported.

Officials from the health ministry and the Thimphu Dzongdag visited the site. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
