Chencho Dema | Punakha

Punakha has five NC candidates for the April 20 election.

Lhaki Dolma, incumbent from Dzomi Gewog, will contest against Dophu Drukpa from Toebisa. Chencho Wangdi NC candidate from Chhubu Gewog, Namgay Dorji from Talog Gewog, and Dorji Tenzin from Shelnga-Bjimi Gewog.

Dophu Drukpa won from Toebisa on March 7 securing 379 votes.

Lhaki Dolma secured 321 “Yes” and 42 “No” votes.

Chencho Wangdi secured 423 “Yes” and 41 “No” votes.

Dorji Tenzin secured 281 “Yes” and 64 “No” votes on March 10.

Namgay Dorji won with 282 votes on March 11.

The last dhangmoi zomdu, which was held on March 12, saw 14 voters come to vote.

Punakha has 18,746 registered voters.
