Futsal: To keep youth engaged in a meaningful way, a two-week Recovery Futsal Cup is underway at the Changjiji mini pitch in Thimphu.

A total of 16 teams mostly comprised of students are taking part in the competition. Organised by the Drop-in-Centre (DIC) of the Youth Development Fund, the competition aims to prevent young individuals from indulging in unhealthy practises during their vacations.

Along with the students, there are few teams comprising of recovering addicts who are also taking part in the competition. The coordinator of the competition, Jigme Wangchuk said that the centre focuses on treatment and prevention of young adults from drug and alcohol related problems.

The fourth edition of the tournament comes with the theme, “Be Smart, Don’t Start. Say No to Drugs.”
