Bhutan’s under-23 football team will take on host Nepal in the finals of the 13th South Asian Games today at the Dasarath Rangasalam Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal at 3:15pm (BST).

Assistant coach, Puspalal Sharma, said that the Nepalese performance has not been consistent in the tournament except for the huge margin win (4-0) from Bhutan earlier on December 3.

“There is possibility to win from Nepal as we have got the opportunity to analyse their games,” said Puspalal Sharma, adding that the team’s fitness coach have been working on players’ recovery, regeneration and rehabilitation.  “We have had good rest and are prepared tactically.”

Puspalal Sharma said that that there could be a possible major overhaul in the formation.

Nepal reached the finals after defeating Bangladesh by a lone goal on December 8. They drew their first match against Sri Lanka on December 4 and defeated Maldives 2-1 on December 2.

Except against Nepal, Bhutan won all the matches played against Bangladesh, Maldives and Sri Lanka in the previous matches.
