Former National Council, Tashi Samdrup will represent the Nubi-Tangsibji constituency from Trongsa for the Druk Thuendrel Tshogpa (DTT).

The 51-year-old began his 19-year career in the civil service as the Zhemgang Forestry Extension Officer in 1996. He was elected as a National Council member of Trongsa in 2018.

Before contesting for NC, he managed the Gangtey Lhakhang Building Project.  He also led a hospitality business that catered to the country’s growing tourism business then and highly competitive hotel business.

Tashi Samdrup has a master’s degree in mountain forestry majoring in socio-economics from Austria and a degree in environmental management from the Netherlands.  

With this, the party has declared 40 candidates so far to contest for fourth parliamentary elections.
